MEET DEREK
I’m Derek Preston, founder of Symmetry Wedding Video. I live in Abruzzo with my wife Gem and our three dogs: Luna, Tofu, and Nori.
I filmed my first wedding in 2017 for a friend and fell in love with it instantly. Every wedding is a thrilling and fascinating experience for me - sharing the best days of people’s lives is completely addictive! The smiles, laughter and energy of the day is contagious, and I often catch myself with a goofy smile on my face when I’m editing!
For me, wedding films are like a time capsule and what lights me up is capturing the real stuff: Your uncle’s dance moves, your partner’s tearful vows, your friend’s joke during the speeches that had everyone in stitches.
I film every wedding myself and personally edit every frame. You’ll never be just another booking in a busy queue - you’ll always know who’s behind the camera, and who’s crafting your film.
